The world’s most powerful dark matter detector yields its first results

The results of the first observation of XENON1T, the most powerful detector of dark matter particles ever constructed on Earth, were revealed in May 2017. Based at the LNGS in Italy, the XENON collaboration includes teams from the SUBATECH and LPNHE joint units who unveiled their first findings to the scientific community after 30 days of observation. These open new perspectives for research into this mysterious dark matter.
