For its third year, the “Innovatives SHS” (HSS) exhibition in May 2017 in Marseille (southwestern France) offered around 70 stands presenting research innovations in the humanities and social sciences. The event’s ambition was to cross the borders of the academic world and facilitate skill and knowledge transfer. It is a unique opportunity for direct exchanges with research teams but also between scientists and non-academic players such as those from industry or cultural institutions, decision-makers etc. Major issues were put forward such as health, heritage, land use and planning, education and support for the decision-making process. With more than 1000 visitors to the event, the mission was successfully accomplished.
